Community Events offers events, exhibits, and programs that celebrate our town and its heritage and bring us together. We recognize local nonprofit organizations and promote community service and volunteering. And, through dedicated funds and our Beautification Committee, we help keep Salisbury looking beautiful. From time to time we organize special events for the community.

Annual Events

We sponsor annual events which honor local traditions and strengthen our community’s connections to its heritage. From time to time we organize special events for the community.

4th of July Celebration at the Town Grove

Families and friends gather to observe and celebrate Independence Day at Lake Wononscopomuc (Lakeville Lake). Bring a picnic, take a dip in the lake, or sit in the shade of magnificent oak trees as the Salisbury Band plays patriotic and well-known tunes.

Heman Allen, 1740 – 1778, (aka our own Lou Bucceri in period attire) makes an appearance each year and reads the Declaration of Independence.

The Salisbury Fall Festival

We help organize and publicize this annual October home-town festival which attracts hundreds of visitors to the Northwest Corner. Fun-filled events and activities are offered by community organizations, churches, school groups, and merchants. Wander down Main Street and enjoy a quilt show, baked goods, book sales, exhibits, food tents, and live music. Meet local artisans, watch a magic show, enjoy a pet parade, and much more.

Holiday Concert

For more than three decades, the Salisbury Association has hosted a festive holiday concert early in December. Celebrated musicians of The Salisbury Four perform traditional seasonal music and carols spanning periods from the medieval to the Baroque, as well as more modern eras.

Special Events

From time to time we organize special events for the community.

Wonders of Winter

Wonders of Winter was an art exhibition and benefit sale that celebrated Salisbury Winter Sports Association and was held in six venues throughout town. In connection with WOW, we also sponsored a magazine cover art competition for HVRHS Students. To view the paintings and learn more about these two exciting Special Events, click here.
